The Committee 2022-2023

Picture
Co-President - Ellie Davis
I’m Ellie, a 5th year medic from Newnham College. I am one of the Co-Presidents for GP-Soc this year and am excited to promote General Practice as a career to the medics of Cambridge. Personally, I really enjoy the diversity of opportunities that GP has to offer, as well as the large amount of patient contact. We have a lot of plans for different educational and career-focused events, as well as our Conference on the 4th March – stay tuned

Co-President - Bilal Amin

Hi, name’s Bilal, I’m a 5th year medic at Robinson College and co-pres! I’ve always admired the perspicacity of GPs and find the rapidly-changing nature of the field exciting. The outgoing committee did an amazing job and we hope to build on this to have a preternatural year for the society.

Secretary -  Kieran Smith

Hi, I am Kieran, a 5th Year Medic, and I am looking forward to serving as the Secretary for the GP Society 2022-2023. If I were to summarise the rationale behind my involvement in this society, I would probably refer to a fascination with the many, varied, and (occasionally) humorous ways in which patients interact with the most public facing aspect of the NHS.

Treasurer -  Anthony Lim
Hi! I’m Anthony, a 6th year medical student at Caius, and I’m the treasurer. I’m really excited to be working with the rest of the committee, both behind the scenes in managing finances to run events, and providing general support to the other officers.

Events Officer - Sejal Karmarkar
Hi! My name is Sejal and I am a 5th year medic at Jesus.  I joined GPSoc because I really enjoyed my GP placements during med school and loved the problem solving aspect that is a key part of the job (and am also really attracted to the great work-life balance you can incorporate into your career!) I am really looking forward to being one of the GPSoc Events Officers this year and continuing all the great events that GPSoc hold every year, as well as building on that and introducing some new event ideas to the society!
